McGill AirFlow, a subsidiary of United McGill, is one of the country's leading suppliers to contractors of commercial and industrial sheet metal ductwork with an extensive line of round, flat oval, and rectangular ductwork and related items such as acoustical products and sealants. We have five plants nationwide. The Associate needed will operate specialized machines to fabricate sheet metal duct and fittings and perform MIG welding on sheet metal, stainless steel and aluminum. Work hours are 7:30 a.m.‑ 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday. Some overtime work is required. Responsibilities Read blueprints and mechanical drawings to determine fabrication requirements and tolerances. Measure, mark, cut, bend, and weld metal using MIG, TIG, and stick welding in accordance with AWS standards. Operate press brake, plasma cutting, and basic machining equipment; perform setup and adjustments as needed. Interpret schematics, perform shop math, and ensure accuracy with calipers and micrometers. Assemble components, fabricate ductwork, and fabricate sheet metal parts while maintaining quality and safety. Qualifications include prior machine operation (i.e. press brakes, roll formers, and shears) and welding (MIG & TIG) experience with sheet metal, stainless and galvanized steel, ability to read and interpret blueprints and read and understand English, and ability to lift, push, and carry up to 75 pounds. A high school diploma or GED (or commitment to get GED) is required.
