Position SummaryThe Countertops Fabricator is responsible for fabricating, finishing, and preparing countertops and work surfaces used in ambulance interiors. This role requires attention to detail, strong fabrication skills, and the ability to work with specialized materials designed for durability, hygiene, and safety in emergency vehicles.
Key ResponsibilitiesFabricate ambulance countertops using materials such as solid surface, laminate, composites, and lightweight substratesMeasure, cut, rout, shape, and finish countertop components per drawings and templatesApply laminates, edge banding, adhesives, and sealantsInstall sinks, cutouts, and integrated features as requiredEnsure finished countertops meet fit, finish, durability, and cleanliness standardsRead and interpret blueprints, build sheets, and work instructionsInspect materials and finished products for defectsMaintain clean, organized work areas following 5S and safety standardsFollow all safety procedures and PPE requirementsSupport rework, repairs, and continuous improvement effortsRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required2+ years of countertop fabrication, woodworking, or solid surface experience preferredAbility to read drawings and perform accurate measurementsProficiency with hand tools and power tools (routers, saws, sanders, drills)Strong attention to detail and craftsmanshipAbility to lift up to 50 lbs and work in standing positionsReliable attendance and strong work ethicPreferred ExperienceExperience fabricating countertops for ambulances, RVs, marine, or commercial vehiclesFamiliarity with solid surface materials (Corian or similar)Experience with lightweight, fire-retardant, and antimicrobial materialsKnowledge of installation requirements for mobile environmentsPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 50 lbsProlonged standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, and climbingAbility to work in a manufacturing environmentUse of required personal protective equipment (PPE)Work EnvironmentManufacturing and fabrication shop environmentExposure to noise, dust, adhesives, and machineryContingencies of EmploymentSuccessful completion of a background check, pre-employment drug screen and physical examination Successful completion of a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check, if applicable to the positionEqual Opportunity EmployerLife Line Emergency Vehicles (LLEV) is an equal opportunity employer committed to creating and maintaining an inclusive workplace where all employees and applicants are valued, respected, and supported.
