Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Brazer to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for joining metal components through various brazing techniques, ensuring high-quality assemblies that meet precise specifications. This role requires a strong understanding of metal fabrication, blueprint interpretation, and welding standards. The Brazer will play a vital part in producing durable, reliable metal products by utilizing advanced brazing methods and adhering to safety protocols. Responsibilities Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine proper brazing procedures and materials. Prepare metal components by cleaning, fitting, and positioning parts accurately for assembly. Perform brazing using appropriate techniques such as gas torch, furnace, or induction methods, following AWS (American Welding Society) standards. Use measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, and shop math skills to ensure precise dimensions and tolerances. Operate power tools, hand tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment safely and efficiently. Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols during all welding and fabrication activities. Inspect finished assemblies for quality control, verifying weld integrity and dimensional accuracy. Collaborate with team members on assembly processes involving sheet metal fabrication, pipe threading, ductwork, or mechanical fabrication. Document work processes and inspection results accurately for quality assurance purposes. Support continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting process enhancements and maintaining a clean work environment. Requirements Proven experience in construction site environments or metal fabrication shops with a focus on brazing or welding. Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings related to mechanical or metal fabrication projects. Knowledge of various welding techniques including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), and gas metal arc welding. Familiarity with the use of measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math for precision measurement. Strong mechanical knowledge of metal materials, sheet metal fabrication, pipe threading, ductwork installation, and assembly processes. Experience operating power tools like grinders, drills, press brake machines, plasma cutters, and rigging equipment. Understanding of ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) codes & standards and AWS welding standards. Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately for fabrication tasks. Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations related to fabrication work. Demonstrated commitment to safety protocol adherence in all aspects of work. Prior experience working with stainless steel or other metals commonly used in fabrication is preferred.
