Our customers include large-scale industrial facilities across the automotive, cabinetry, recreational vehicle, and food manufacturing industries. Most of our work involves one-off/prototype builds and short-run production, requiring precision, adaptability, and attention to detail. This position begins as a Shop Hand where you will learn our shop, our culture, and our expectations. Employees who demonstrate outstanding attendance, work ethic, safety, and mechanical aptitude may be selected to enter our Welder/Fabricator Apprenticeship Program. The first nine months are an opportunity to prove you are dependable, safety-conscious, mechanically inclined, and committed before ALSI invests in advanced fabrication and welding training. What You'll Do

• Assist welders and fabricators with daily production
• Load, unload, and move materials throughout the shop
• Operate hand and power tools safely
• Grind, deburr, clean, and prepare materials
• Prepare materials and completed equipment for shipping
• Build shipping pallets and custom crates
• Make local delivery runs
• Pick up materials and supplies from vendors
• Support shipping, receiving, and inventory
• Maintain a clean and organized work area (5S)
• Learn safe operation of forklifts and overhead cranes
• Perform general shop duties as assigned
• Maintain a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record What We're Looking For

Performance Review:

Employees who consistently meet expectations may be invited into the Welder/Fabricator Apprenticeship Program. Phase 2 -

Welder/Fabricator Apprenticeship:

Receive structured training in blueprint reading, layout, fabrication, MIG welding, Basic TIG welding, and equipment assembly.

Important:

Shop hand responsibilities do not end once the apprenticeship begins. Apprentices continue performing shop hand duties—including shipping preparation, building pallets and crates, deliveries, material handling, and general shop support—while progressively taking on fabrication and welding responsibilities. Successful completion of the apprenticeship leads to promotion to Welder/Fabricator I. Benefits Compensation & Growth Pay range starts at: $19.00/hr.

Evaluation Period:

Potential pay increase after 90 days based on performance.

Schedule:

Full-time, with overtime opportunities.
