Job Description
Overview Godwin Manufacturing is hiring a dependable Bolt-On/Weld-On Truck Equipment Installer to join our manufacturing team in Dunn, NC. This position is responsible for installing, fitting, bolting, and welding truck equipment and components, including toolboxes, rear hinges, hydraulic packages, rear hinge assemblies, and pintle plates. This is a hands-on manufacturing role for someone with strong mechanical aptitude, welding ability, attention to detail, and a safety-first mindset. The ideal candidate can work from instructions, measurements, and supervisor direction to complete truck body and equipment installations accurately and efficiently. Responsibilities
- Install bolt-on and weld-on truck equipment and components according to work orders, measurements, drawings, and supervisor instructions.
- Install and secure toolboxes, rear hinges, hydraulic packages, pintle plates, brackets, mounts, and related truck body equipment.
- Fit, align, clamp, bolt, tack weld, and weld parts into proper position for durable and accurate installation.
- Weld rear hinge assemblies and other fabricated components as required.
- Assist with hydraulic package installation, including mounting components and routing hoses or related hardware as directed.
- Measure, mark, drill, grind, cut, inspect, and verify materials and installed parts for fit, finish, and quality.
- Use hand tools, power tools, air tools, grinders, drills, welding equipment, and other shop equipment safely.
- Report equipment issues, fit-up concerns, material problems, or quality concerns to a supervisor.
- Follow all company safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Assist with other truck body, fabrication, welding, or production duties as needed. Qualifications
- Previous experience in truck equipment installation, welding, fabrication, mechanical assembly, hydraulics, manufacturing, or related hands-on work is preferred.
- Ability to weld mild steel and perform basic fit-up, tack welding, grinding, drilling, and component alignment.
- Ability to read a tape measure and use basic measuring tools accurately.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to work with hand tools, power tools, air tools, and shop equipment.
- Hydraulic installation experience is a plus, including familiarity with hoses, fittings, mounts, and related components.
- Basic math skills and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Dependable attendance, punctuality, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work safely around metal materials, welding, machinery, noise, dust, and typical manufacturing conditions.
- Forklift experience is a plus but not required.
- Stand, walk, bend, reach, and use hands throughout the shift.
- Lift, carry, push, or pull materials up to 50-75 pounds as needed.
- Wear required safety gear, including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and steel-toe footwear.
Hours:
Monday through Thursday, 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with a one-hour lunch.Overtime:
Overtime shifts may be required as needed.Attendance:
Consistent, on-time attendance is required. Tardiness and excessive absences are not acceptable.Pay Range:
