As Plastek's Fabricator:
The Fabricator position reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor and must work in coordination with co-workers to be effective. The Fabricator is primarily responsible for welding and fabrication of materials to assist with production and maintenance of machines and continuous improvement. Reference blueprint and confer with Lead person to determine job requirements Gather necessary materials and perform layout per specifications Set up welding machine and adjust settings Position, clamp, and/or track weld as needed before beginning welding process Visually examine welds for adherence to quality standards Notify Lead person or Inspector when product is ready for inspection Participate in product development, build proto-types, and test products Assemble components and verify specifications Fabricate- weld components as required by internal or customer drawings and specifications Follow fabrication procedures
Qualifications :
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required. Experienced Welder (MIG, TIG, Stick) Individual to be mechanically inclined, self-motivated, and reliable Individual must be able to work on projects independently with minimal supervision Demonstrate a commitment to Continuous Improvement in every activity and project assigned Experience with Electrode arc welder, Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welder, oxyacetylene welding and cutting equipment. Experience with metal cutting and bending equipment (shears, brake presses, drill presses) Ability to read and understand blueprints Ability to follow directions and work alone and with a team Welding Certification Occupational and/or Physical Requirements Understanding of paperwork procedures and documentation requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable assistance Ability to spend up to 12 hours a shift on foot around hot machinery (continental) Ability to move from one area to another by stepping over and/or bending under objects, pushing and pulling objects $20.00 to $22.00 based on experience.
