Job Description

Job Overview Hatley Pointe is seeking a skilled and versatile Welder / Mountain Operations Technician to support year-round mountain infrastructure and equipment needs. This position is responsible for performing high-quality structural and high-pressure welds while also assisting with heavy equipment operation, lift infrastructure support, snowmaking systems, and general mountain operations functions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in an outdoor environment while applying your welding skills to a variety of construction and mechanical projects. Responsibilities Welding & Fabrication Perform high-pressure and structural welds on steel components, piping, and mountain infrastructure Weld and repair snowmaking pipe, lift components, equipment frames, and structural elements Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding specifications Ensure all welds meet safety and durability standards Maintain welding equipment and tools; assist in identifying additional equipment needs Mountain Operations Support Operate heavy equipment (loaders, excavators, skid steers, etc.) as needed Assist with lift maintenance and mechanical repairs Support snowmaking system installation and maintenance Perform preventative maintenance on mountain infrastructure Assist with construction and capital improvement projects This role transitions seasonally, with increased operational support responsibilities during winter months, including snowmaking and lift operations support. Qualifications Proven construction site experience with a strong background in welding and fabrication processes Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and technical drawings Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, calipers, micrometers, and other fabrication equipment Knowledge of rigging procedures involving cranes or forklifts for material handling and installation Mechanical knowledge related to pipe threading, ductwork fabrication, soldering, machining, and assembly processes Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for measurements and specifications Experience working in manufacturing or construction environments with adherence to safety standards including ASME codes & standards Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail; excellent teamwork attitude in outdoor mountain settings
Pay:
$24.00 - $27.00 per hour
