Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and motivated Steel Fabricator to join our Miscellaneous Steel Department and/or our Structural Steel Department team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating and assembling metal components with precision and adherence to safety standards. You will work on structural and/or miscellaneous steel projects, ensuring all work meets the requirements of the fabrication shop drawings and our company's quality standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your mechanical knowledge and craftsmanship in a fast-paced environment where quality and safety are paramount. The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, and eager to contribute to innovative fabrication solutions. This is not an entry level position. Experience in structural and/or miscellaneous steel fabrication is required. Your skills will be tested during the interview process. Responsibilities Interpret fabrication shop drawings to determine project requirements. Measure, mark, cut, and assemble metal materials using hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, and machining equipment. Perform welding using various techniques such as GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards. Fabricate metal components using measuring instruments and shop math skills. Fit and assemble fabricated parts accurately in the shop environment while adhering to safety protocols. Operate overhead cranes and other lifting equipment safely during fabrication processes. Conduct quality checks on completed work to ensure compliance with specifications. Maintain a clean and organized work area while following all safety procedures. Skills Extensive structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication experience, ideally with experience fabricating stairs and handrails . Knowledge of safety protocols and OSHA standards. Strong mechanical knowledge and proficiency in reading fabrication shop drawings. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment (GMAW, FCAW, TIG, SMAW), plasma cutters, and fabrication equipment. Ability to measure precisely using measuring instruments and shop math for accurate fabrication. Familiarity with overhead crane operation for lifting heavy components safely during fabrication. Knowledge of fabrication shop processes. Understanding of welding techniques aligned with AWS standards. Strong adherence to safety protocols during all phases of fabrication. Pay:
$75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
