In this role, you will be responsible for assembling, Structural steel and miscellaneous steel weldments and assemblies at one of our 2 fabrications shops. Your expertise will ensure that all components are fabricated and fitted accurately, safely, and efficiently, adhering to project specifications and industry standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects that require precision, craftsmanship, and a proactive approach. Responsibilities Read and interpret detailed technical drawings to accurately assemble metal components. Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment (including MIG and TIG), and plasma cutters to cut, shape, and join steel parts according to specifications. Operate cranes, forklifts, rigging gear, to handle heavy steel sections safely and efficiently. Measure materials precisely to ensure proper fitment. Fabricate structural steel, handrail, ladders, weldments of varying complexity. opportunities to work on stainless, and aluminum projects are also a potential Perform welding tasks following AWS codes & standards using appropriate techniques such as MIG, TIG, welding. Conduct math calculations for measurements, material estimations, and fabrication processes. Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and materials while following safety procedures at all times. Collaborate with team members at the fabrication shop to complete projects on schedule. Qualifications Proven construction site experience with a strong understanding of steel fabrication techniques. are a plus. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and AISC codes & standards confidently. Skilled in operating rigging equipment such as cranes and forklifts safely in busy environments. Experience with Miscellaneous fabrication, plasma cutting, press brake machines, hand tools & power tools. basic math skills for measurements. Familiarity with safety procedures related to construction sites or manufacturing facilities. Strong teamwork ethic with excellent communication skills; ability to work independently when needed.
