Job Description

Pink Sparrow is a forward-thinking design and fabrication shop specializing in experiential environments. Partnering with top-tier agencies and brands, we create the best platform for your message by producing high-quality, impactful environments for marketing events, pop-ups, mobile tours, retail, trade shows, and much more. With over 40,000 sq ft of fabrication space across Brooklyn and Los Angeles, our multidisciplinary team of industry experts is equipped to make any sized vision a reality. Reporting to the Metal Department Manager and Lead Metal Fabricators, Metal fabricators are responsible for the fabrication, installation, and handling of custom builds. They must have knowledge of fabrication specific to special events, staging, theater, and retail displays. The metal fabricators will need to meet the established quality standards and timelines of all builds set by the Director of Fabrication, the Metal Department Manager, Leads, and Project Managers.
Essential Responsibilities:
Operating in the fabrication department under the direction of the Metal Department Manager Working on projects as outlined by the Metal Department Manager and adhering to the department's production schedule Working from drawings to verify dimensions and build with attention to detail and quality Maintaining best practices and sound fabrication techniques Working with a team to consistently achieve the same standard of quality Effectively communicating, both orally and in writing, and remaining professional at all times Ensuring proper safety practices are followed, personal protective equipment is worn at all times, and that a safe and efficient workspace is maintained
Qualifications:
Required:
2+ years of steel mig welding experience Extensive knowledge of stationary and hand-held power tools, including grinders, benders, and typical metalworking tools Basic knowledge of jigging and laying out metal frames Possession of basic hand tools and reliable transportation to job sites Willingness to work overtime, nights, and weekends when necessary to deliver the project on time Willingness to travel on projects for out-of-town installs Ability to use ladders and carry at least 80 pounds Knowledge of building materials pertinent to industry standards, focused on mild steel and aluminum
Preferred:
1+ years' experience in custom fabrication - additional 1+ years' experience in scenic (or related) fabrication preferred
Pay:
$28.00 per hour
