Temp-to-Hire Job Order #: 138177 Position Overview Stand-By Personnel is seeking an experienced Fitter to join a manufacturing and fabrication team in Claremore. This position is responsible for reading blueprints and technical drawings, laying out materials, fitting and aligning structural components, and ensuring assemblies meet required dimensions and specifications before final welding or installation. The ideal candidate has strong blueprint reading and fabrication skills, is comfortable working independently from drawings, and can accurately measure, prepare, fit, and align metal components while maintaining high standards for quality and workmanship. Required Experience & Skills Previous fitting, structural fabrication, or related manufacturing experience Strong blueprint and technical drawing interpretation skills Ability to accurately measure, mark, and lay out materials Experience fitting and aligning structural steel and fabricated components Strong mechanical aptitude and fabrication knowledge Ability to use precision measuring equipment Experience with hand and power tools Strong attention to detail and dimensional accuracy Ability to identify and resolve fit-up and alignment issues Strong safety awareness and dependable attendance Ability to work independently and as part of a fabrication team Essential Duties & Responsibilities Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication specifications Measure, mark, and lay out materials according to required dimensions Fit and align structural steel, metal components, and fabricated assemblies Prepare materials for assembly and welding Cut, grind, drill, and shape materials as required Position and secure components prior to final welding or installation Verify dimensions, alignment, and tolerances using measuring instruments Inspect completed fit-ups to ensure quality and specification requirements are met Identify dimensional, alignment, or fit-up problems and make necessary corrections Coordinate with Welders, Fabricators, and production personnel throughout the fabrication process Maintain productivity while meeting established workmanship standards Complete assigned projects according to production schedules and deadlines Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Follow all company safety procedures and fabrication requirements Perform additional fitting and fabrication duties as assigned Fabrication & Technical Skills Candidates should be comfortable with: Blueprint reading Technical and fabrication drawings Structural steel fit-up Material layout Precision measuring Dimensional tolerances Cutting and grinding Drilling and material preparation Hand and power tools Component alignment Fabrication processes Fit-up troubleshooting Preferred Qualifications Structural Fitter experience Heavy fabrication or industrial manufacturing experience Advanced blueprint reading skills Experience preparing assemblies for welding Experience working with structural steel and fabricated metal components Tack welding experience Strong layout and dimensional inspection skills Experience using tape measures, squares, levels, calipers, and other measuring equipment Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, lifting, positioning, pushing, and pulling Ability to safely handle steel and fabricated components Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination required for layout and fit-up work Ability to safely operate grinders, drills, cutting equipment, and other fabrication tools while wearing required PPE Comfortable performing physically demanding fabrication work throughout the shift Work Environment Industrial manufacturing and metal fabrication environment Regular work around structural steel, fabricated components, welding operations, grinders, drills, and power tools Hands-on position requiring frequent blueprint reading, measuring, layout, and fit-up Quality-focused environment requiring accurate dimensions and alignment before components move to welding or final installation Team-oriented workplace requiring coordination with Welders, Fabricators, and production personnel Why You'll Want This Opportunity Starting pay of $24.00+/hour , based on experience Consistent day-shift schedule Long-term temp-to-hire opportunity Weekly pay Hands-on structural and metal fabrication experience Opportunity to utilize advanced blueprint reading and layout skills Develop additional experience with precision measurement, fit-up, and fabrication problem-solving Work closely with skilled Welders and Fabricators Excellent opportunity for an experienced Fitter looking for steady, skilled manufacturing work Ready to Apply?
