Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic construction team as a Journeyman Ironworker and take pride in shaping the skyline with your expert skills! As a key contributor to large-scale building projects, you will be responsible for installing, reinforcing, and maintaining structural steel and metal components with precision and safety at the forefront. Duties Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to accurately execute project specifications. Measure, cut, weld, and assemble metal materials using various welding techniques including
MIG, TIG, FCAW
(Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards. Fabricate structural components by using hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, and machining equipment to meet precise measurements and tolerances. Install steel frameworks, ductwork, pipe threading, and other metal assemblies on construction sites while adhering to safety protocols. Operate cranes and other heavy machinery safely to position large steel sections or fabricated components into place. Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, shop math skills, and measuring tapes to ensure accurate fabrication and installation. Maintain a clean work environment by following safety procedures and inspecting tools and equipment regularly. Skills Extensive construction site experience with knowledge of safety protocols and OSHA standards. Proficiency in interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and mechanical blueprints for fabrication and installation tasks. Skilled in welding techniques including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), with knowledge of AWS standards. Ability to operate power tools, hand tools, plasma cutters, machining equipment, and other fabrication machinery efficiently. Strong mechanical knowledge related to metal materials, sheet metal fabrication, ductwork installation, pipe threading, and assembly processes. Experience with measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, shop math calculations for precise fabrication work. Familiarity with interpreting technical drawings and blueprints for accurate project execution. Ability to perform basic math calculations necessary for fabrication shop math and measurements. Knowledge of mechanical fabrication techniques including soldering, plasma cutting, machining, welding (MIG/TIG/SMAW/FCAW), and assembly of metal components. $20.00 - $35.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
