Full Job Description Summary:
Fabricator Level I is an entry-level position designed for individuals starting their career in metal fabrication. This role focuses on learning fundamental fabrication techniques, tool operation, and blueprint reading while assisting senior fabricators in production tasks. Fabricator Level I employees will receive hands-on training in various fabrication methods and are expected to develop their skills over time.
Daily Tasks:
Assist in material preparation, including cutting and measuring metal parts. Operate basic fabrication equipment under supervision. Learn and apply welding techniques as instructed by senior fabricators. Read and interpret simple blueprints and technical drawings. Maintain shop cleanliness and tool organization. Follow safety guidelines and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Assist in assembling fabricated components. Participate in on-the-job training to develop fabrication skills. Perform basic quality checks on fabricated components. Help move, position, and secure parts for welding and assembly. Report any defects or inconsistencies in materials or parts to supervisors.
Responsibilities:
Support senior fabricators by assisting with metal preparation and assembly. Learn and develop core fabrication skills through hands-on training. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the shop area. Follow all safety procedures and use PPE correctly. Perform quality checks under the guidance of senior team members. Work towards developing the skills necessary for promotion to Fabricator Level II. Assist with the setup and calibration of basic fabrication tools and equipment. Follow project specifications and shop drawings to ensure quality fabrication. Contribute to a safe and efficient work environment by adhering to company policies
