  • This role focuses on fitting, aligning, and assembling materials for custom builds within a sheet metal fabrication environment. You read and interpret detailed drawings, schematics, and blueprints, use precision measuring tools, and perform light MIG welding to ensure components meet exact project specifications and tolerances.
  • Responsibilities
  • + Read and interpret detailed drawings, schematics, and blueprints to understand project requirements and specifications.
+ Use tape measures and other measuring tools with high accuracy to mark, layout, and verify dimensions. + Fit, align, and position materials and components according to project plans and tolerances. + Perform light MIG welding to secure and assemble components for custom fabrication work. + Collaborate closely with fabricators and welders to complete custom builds and assemblies. + Inspect and verify dimensions, alignment, and tolerances of assembled components to ensure quality and compliance with specifications. + Follow established safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment while working in a busy fabrication facility. + Maintain punctuality and reliable attendance for the scheduled 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. shift.
  • Essential Skills
  • + Prior experience working as a fitter in an industrial or construction environment.
+ Ability to read and understand blueprints, drawings, and technical documentation. + Proficiency in using tape measures and applying accurate layout techniques. + Hands-on experience with light MIG welding for fabrication work. + Strong attention to detail and precision in measuring, fitting, and inspecting components. + Ability to collaborate effectively with fabricators and welders on custom builds. + Reliable transportation and consistent punctuality.
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • + Basic knowledge of metalworking and fabrication techniques. + Experience working in a fabrication or machine shop environment. + Certifications in welding or blueprint reading (preferred but not required).

  • Work Environment
  • This position is based in a sheet metal fabricating facility that is loud and can be very dirty, reflecting the nature of heavy industrial and fabrication work.
You work on-site during a 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. shift, using tools such as tape measures, welding equipment, and other fabrication and machine shop tools. Personal protective equipment is required at all times, including steel toe shoes, work pants with no rips or tears, ear plugs, and safety glasses.

  • This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Memphis, TN.
  • Pay and Benefits
  • The pay range for this position is $21.
00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your jobclassification and length of employment.
