$20.00•28.00/hour (Based on Experience) Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Fitter/Fabricator to join our billboard manufacturing team in Grand Prairie, TX. In this role, you will prepare, align, and assemble structural steel components before welding. Your attention to detail and ability to accurately read blueprints will ensure high-quality fabrication and efficient production. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with fabrication experience who takes pride in producing quality work and wants to grow with a stable manufacturing company. Responsibilities Read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings. Measure, mark, and lay out structural steel components. Fit, align, and assemble frames, columns, catwalks, and support structures. Tack weld components for final welding (if qualified). Use fabrication tools including tape measures, squares, levels, grinders, cutting tools, and oxy-fuel torches. Verify dimensions and tolerances before welding begins. Set up assemblies to minimize distortion during welding. Work closely with welders to ensure proper fit-up and production flow. Move and position materials using shop equipment. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area. Qualifications Minimum 2 years of fabrication, fitting, or metalworking experience preferred. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings. Strong measuring, layout, and fabrication skills. Experience using grinders, torches, and fabrication equipment. Understanding of structural steel fabrication and fit-up techniques. Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. Ability to stand, bend, and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Preferred Qualifications Basic MIG, Flux Core, Pipe, Beam, Angle, or Tack Welding experience. Experience with structural steel assemblies. Experience operating fabrication equipment such as hydraulic punches, magnetic drills, ironworker machines, or similar equipment. Work Environment Indoor fabrication shop (non-climate controlled with airflow). Heavy structural steel manufacturing environment. Team-oriented workplace focused on safety, quality, and productivity.
