Monday-Friday | 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM | Overtime & Saturdays as Needed Build Critical Infrastructure Across America Adecco is recruiting for Steel Structure Fitters with a leading steel fabrication manufacturer in Rhome, TX. This position is responsible for laying out, fitting, and assembling structural steel components used in transmission poles, substations, highway signs, and other utility infrastructure projects. Fitters play a critical role in ensuring weld-ready assemblies meet quality standards and project specifications. No pole fabrication experience is required. Candidates with fabrication, fitting, welding, structural steel, pipe fitting, or related manufacturing experience are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities Read blueprints, drawings, and weld symbols to layout and fit structural steel components Assemble and position steel parts, plates, flanges, brackets, and attachments according to specifications Measure, mark, and verify dimensions using tape measures, levels, squares, and templates Perform fit-up work that meets quality standards for final welding and inspection Operate overhead cranes, jib cranes, grinders, cutting torches, and fabrication equipment safely Inspect completed work for accuracy and conformance to specifications Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Assist with cross-training and support other production operations as needed Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience Ability to read a tape measure accurately to 1/16" Basic shop math skills including fractions, decimals, and geometry Ability to read blueprints and understand weld symbols Ability to pass a fitter assessment that includes measurements, shop math, blueprint reading, and practical fit-up exercises Ability to work overtime and Saturdays as needed Reliable attendance and strong work ethic Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, physical, hearing test, and vision test Preferred Qualifications Experience in structural steel fabrication, fitting, pipe fitting, ship fitting, or related metal trades Experience operating overhead cranes, jib cranes, or forklifts Knowledge of welding equipment, torches, and fabrication tools Experience with transmission structures, substations, tapered tubular poles, or heavy structural steel fabrication Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus Benefits Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance 401(k) with company match Paid holidays Paid time off Career advancement opportunities Ongoing training and skill development Long-term, direct-hire opportunity with a growing manufacturer Why Apply?
