In this role, you will be responsible for performing high-quality welding and metal fabrication tasks within our workshop environment, ensuring all projects meet safety standards and technical specifications. Your expertise will contribute to the creation, repair, and assembly of metal components, utilizing a variety of welding techniques and measurement tools. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse metal materials and fabrication processes in a dynamic setting. Duties Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to accurately execute welding projects. Perform various welding techniques including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards. Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, plasma cutters, and measuring tapes to ensure precise cuts and welds. Fabricate, assemble, and repair metal structures and components using hand tools, power tools, and machining equipment. Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols, including proper handling of gas metals, sheet metal materials, and power tools. Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings to determine dimensions, welding sequences, and fabrication procedures. Collaborate with team members on construction site experience projects or shop-based fabrication tasks to meet project deadlines. Skills Extensive experience with construction site work and metal fabrication environments. Proficiency in multiple welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, and welding standards. Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, mechanical blueprint interpretation, and shop math for accurate fabrication. Ability to operate measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and measuring tapes with precision. Mechanical knowledge related to assembly processes, machining operations, plasma cutting, and construction experience. Familiarity with safety protocols specific to welding shops and construction sites to ensure compliance at all times. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, gas cutting equipment, and other fabrication machinery effectively. Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately for complex metal materials including sheet metal fabrication. Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations during fabrication tasks. Experience working within AWS standards for welding quality assurance and safety compliance.
