Basic Job Functions:
Safely operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and other equipment as needed. Learn various structural line positions including but not limited to: paint line, plate shag, tack-up, seamer, and iron worker. Read and interpret shop drawings. Perform tasks as directed by the Line Supervisor and/or the Line Group Leader. Understand order processing (shop releases and run orders). Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US (Nucor Buildings Group Texas will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future). Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Equivalent Preferred Qualifications:
Possess understanding of metal building systems fabrication. 25T, 7.5T, Flip-Rite, and Hot Roll Crane Certifications. Forklift Certification. Must have supervisor and/or manager recommendation and must be able to perform all essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
