09/02/2026 Job Description Job Description Read structural drawings, fit and assemble steel members, bolt/weld connections, and safely erect steel frames on job sites. Precise alignment, on-time delivery, and teamwork with crane operators, welders, and other trades, forklift and material handling Key Responsibilities Read and interpret structural drawings/blueprints. Fit, bolt, align, and anchor steel members to exact tolerances. Weld or bolt connections as required (MIG/TIG knowledge preferred). Position and level members using tools (measuring tapes, levels, lasers). Erect frames on-site with rigging and crane coordination; verify plumb and level. Inspect components for quality; report deviations; maintain tools and lifting equipment. Maintain safety, wear PPE, and participate in toolbox talks. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; relevant trade certificate/apprenticeship. 2-5+ years of structural steel fitter experience. Proficient with reading drawings; basic welding knowledge (MIG/TIG) preferred. Knowledge of rigging, hoisting, and lifting practices. Physical ability to lift 50-75 lbs; climb, bend, and work at heights. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to multiple sites. Preferred (Nice-to-Have) NCCER or AWS certifications. Fall protection training; CPR/First Aid. Certifications (as required by project)
