Job Description
About us Bertog Landscape has built an award-winning boutique design/build practice on one promise: every client gets a personalized experience, a real sense of place, and finishes that feel one-of-a-kind. We're now looking for the person who can take that reputation and turn it into market share — someone who can walk a property with a client, sketch the vision on the spot, and close the deal to build it. This is a design-led sales role. If you're a landscape architect or designer who lights up in front of a client and has always wanted your creative eye to drive revenue — not just render a plan and hand it off — this is built for you. What You'll Do Win the work Meet with prospective residential and commercial clients, uncover what they actually want (even when they can't articulate it yet), and present a design vision that gets them to say yes Build and manage your own pipeline; convert consultations into signed design/build contracts Develop a referral network with architects, interior designers, builders, and contractors to keep new business flowing in Represent Bertog at the tables — high-end clients, trade partners, industry events — as the face of our design/build capability Design the work Lead concept-to-construction design for residential and commercial landscape projects, supported by a design team for plans, estimates, and construction documents Direct planting design, material selection, and integration of masonry/stonework Apply strong site planning, grading, and construction knowledge so what you design is what actually gets built Deliver the work Partner with project managers, contractors, and field crews to protect design intent through construction Own project budgets, timelines, and quality from proposal through completion What Success Looks Like You're closing new design/build business consistently, your projects hold their design integrity from first sketch to final install, and clients and referral partners are actively requesting you by name. Who We're Looking For We'll be direct: we've had a design/build rainmaker on this team before — a landscape architect with three decades in the business who could sketch a concept and sell it in the same breath. We know that combination is rare. What matters most to us is the sales instinct — the drive to prospect, present, and close. If you also bring landscape architecture chops, that's the ideal, but a strong closer with solid design fluency will beat a brilliant designer who can't sell every time.
