Job Description
Provide specialized architectural and/or urban design and landscape architecture services; prepares programs, documents, correspondence and presentations related to architectural and/or urban design and landscape architecture projects; serves as a liaison between the City, contractors and other related groups in order to help see a project through to completion; supervises the work of subordinate personnel. Additional information related to the Position The Senior Landscape Architect (LA) is needed within the Planning and Design Division to strengthen project delivery, improve design consistency, and maintain the quality of Cincinnati Parks assets across the entire park system. Specifically, this position will: Protect the quality and character of Park assets. The Senior Landscape Architect will help ensure that renovation and capital investments preserve the high standards associated with Cincinnati Parks. This requires an understanding of the historical significance of park facilities and landscapes, combined with a creative and practical vision for appropriate improvements and enhancements. Promote consistent design standards across the Park system. The LA will provide professional design leadership to ensure that design approaches, materials, site elements, and overall project articulation are applied consistently and appropriately. Design decisions will consider the scale and size of each facility, its intended purpose and function, surrounding conditions, and the unique needs of the users being served. Improve project quality and delivery. By providing dedicated landscape architecture expertise within Planning and Design, the position will support more efficient project development, improve coordination throughout the design process, and help ensure projects move from concept through implementation with appropriate technical and design oversight. Strengthen communication throughout the design process. The Senior Landscape Architect will support transparent and consistent communication during all phases of project development with residents, community stakeholders, internal Parks staff, consultants, and leadership. This will help ensure expectations, design decisions, project impacts, and anticipated outcomes are clearly communicated. Overall, the Senior Landscape Architect will provide the specialized design expertise necessary to help Cincinnati Parks deliver thoughtful, durable, historically sensitive, and high-quality improvements that support both current community needs and the long-term stewardship of the Park system. Principles and practices of architecture and/or urban design and landscape design theory. Auto CAD programs and their use. Landscape materials and practices. Facility management principles. Construction- materials

PROMOTIONAL
Each applicant must have three years experience with the City of Cincinnati as an Architecture Intern plus a Bachelor's degree (five- or six-year track) from an accredited college or university in architecture.
