LD7 Studio is progressive and creative full-service landscape architectural firm looking for a Landscape Designer/Architect with 2-3 years of experience to join our firm located in Old Town, Fairfax, Virginia. This is a great opportunity to work on new and very exciting projects in this area as well as up and down the mid-Atlantic region.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We are seeking a highlymotivated candidate that has a desire to learn quickly and become a valuable team member on various hospitality and mixeduse projects, The candidate should have a very strong understanding of local governmental approval processes, especially for Fairfax County, VA and for the City of Fairfax, VA; This opportunity is ideally suited to an individual seeking a greater level of responsibility in helping to manage diverse projects and have an entrepreneurial spirit with a desire to move into upper management; Due to our desire to remain a smaller, boutique design firm, you will sidebyside with the owner of the firm to learn the company approach and importance of detail we value for our clients; The candidate selected will support our growing Landscape Architecture practice by providing site planning, urban and landscape design, and graphic and technical production; Planning (from concept through refinement and jurisdictional submission) of large scale, mixed use, master planned communities; Detailed site planning for all asset classes (office, multifamily, residential, institutional, etc.) Landscape architectural design and detailing for a variety of land development components such as monumental entrances, streetscapes, clubhouses/community centers, playgrounds, plazas, courtyards, pocket parks, etc.; Assist in organizing presentations to new and existing clients and governing bodies, and writing reports, technical memos and letters.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture (BLA) or similar field in accredited college programs Excellent AutoCAD skills and organization a must! Excellent graphic software experience with Sketch Up, Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat, a must! Strong knowledge and use of Lumion and Revit highly desired Freehand illustration and rendering skills desired Excellent organizational skills and willingness to learn Outgoing and engaging personality in a fun office atmosphere is desired Handson Experience with all stages of Design (concept thru CD's) as well as construction observation Entrepreneurial spirit looking to future for senior management position Professional Landscape Architectural Licensure preferred or working toward licensure; Ability to obtain your PLA within 23 years from date of hire Strong design and critical thinking abilities Willingness to take part in client presentations and preparation of packages for presentations Microsoft (Word and Excel) skills a must Ability to organize and present data in creative ways to Team Members and clients Portfolio or work samples will be required if considered for an interview Positive attitude and a strong work ethic
