Job Description:
Purpose:
Perform duties to operate the loader in safe and efficient manner to move earth and materials as required and to maintain grades as directed.
Job Duties:
Check all fluids levels at the beginning of engine startup for the day. Continue to monitor gauges and fluid levels throughout the day during operation. Monitor the operation and function of the loader throughout the workday. Maintain an awareness of unusual noises or operations and bring any exceptions to the attention of the supervisor. Perform light mechanical adjustments and/ or assist mechanic in performing repairs on assigned equipment. Assist with the lubrication and fueling of the loader. The ability to perform a variety of tasks which may include excavating, loading trucks or bins, unload materials from trucks, grading, filling and backfilling, moving and loading earth, trash and debris, ripping up and moving curb and pavement and other tasks as required. Make grade cuts according to instructions and direction. The ability to make cuts in the area of known utilities without causing damage to any underground utility. The ability to operate the loader in a manner to assure the safety of personnel around the equipment, operate the loader on terrain and with loads in a manner to prevent damage to the equipment or injury to the operator the loader around structures, tools or equipment so as not to cause damage closely monitor the height and reach of the loader bucket so as to not damage surrounding structures or truck side boards. Keep equipment and tracks in a clean and orderly condition. Follow all safety rules and company policies and procedures. Perform other related duties as assigned.
