Core Cutting Technician Cumbrex LLC Tucson, AZ Job Details Full-time $20 - $22 an hour 19 hours ago Benefits On-the-job training Qualifications High school diploma or GED Manufacturing standard operating procedures Full Job Description About Cumbrex Cumbrex is an established mining-services company with more than 19 years of experience supporting mineral operations in Peru. We are expanding our U.S. operations to deliver specialized services for leading mining companies in Arizona, with potential expansion in Nevada. Position Summary We are hiring dependable, safety-minded technicians to cut geological and geothecnical drill core using a semi-automatic diamond drill core saw. Prior mining or geology experience is welcome but not required. The semi-automatic equipment performs the primary cutting operation; success in this role depends on following procedures precisely, handling samples carefully, maintaining sample identification and orientation, and working safely. Key Responsibilities Receive, move and stage core boxes in the correct sequence. Confirm core identifiers, orientation, and cut lines with the Core Cutting Operations Supervisor before cutting. Operate the core saw after training and authorization; never bypass guards or safety controls. Return cut core to the correct box orientation and maintain labels and sample integrity. Clean equipment and work areas, manage water/slurry as instructed and complete basic inspections. Report damaged core, mismatches, equipment issues or unsafe conditions immediately. Meet daily production goals without sacrificing safety or quality. Minimum qualifications High school diploma or GED. Reliable attendance and ability to follow written and verbal procedures. Comfort working around industrial equipment, water, noise and rock dust. Ability to read labels and basic measurements and record information accurately. Reliable transportation and ability to report consistently to the Tucson work location. Preferred qualifications Warehouse, construction, production, landscaping, security, emergency response or other safety-sensitive experience. Forklift/pallet-jack experience, MSHA training or prior mining exposure. Bilingual English/Spanish communication. Work environment and physical requirements Prolonged standing; frequent handling of core boxes; repetitive work. Frequent lifting/carrying up to 50 lb and team lifts for heavier items, with reasonable accommodation. Required PPE may include safety-toe boots, eye/face protection, hearing protection, gloves and respiratory protection where required.
