Job Description

Position Overview Our company is a Western Kentucky fiber optic utility construction contractor specializing in fiber installation and utility infrastructure projects. We are seeking Fiber Optic Technicians/Utility Construction Technicians to join our growing team. This position provides hands-on training and career development in fiber optic construction, underground utility installation, equipment operation, and network infrastructure. Job Duties
  • Install underground and aerial fiber optic cable systems
  • Assist with directional drilling and underground utility construction
  • Operate and maintain construction equipment as trained
  • Perform fiber optic cable pulling, placement, and preparation
  • Assist with fiber splicing, testing, and troubleshooting
  • Perform restoration work including excavation, cleanup, and site repair
  • Read construction plans, maps, and job specifications
  • Follow OSHA, utility, and company safety standards
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and job sites Training Provided Employees will receive training in:
  • Fiber optic construction methods
  • Fiber cable handling and installation
  • Fiber splicing and testing procedures
  • Directional drilling operations
  • Utility construction safety
  • Equipment operation
  • OSHA safety practices
  • Career advancement toward technician and foreman roles Required Qualifications
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to work outdoors and in various weather conditions
  • Ability to perform physical labor and lift required materials
  • Willingness to learn skilled trade practices
  • Reliable transportation to job sites Preferred qualifications:
  • Construction experience
  • Utility, telecommunications, or fiber experience
  • CDL license or willingness to obtain one
