Surface Operator
Job Description
MAIN PURPOSE
The Surface Operator is responsible for supporting operation of the backfill plant which produces concrete and shotcrete products in support of underground mining operations. This position is also responsible for operation of the Coarse Ore Storage Area (COSA), Temporary Development Rock Storage Area (TDRSA), snow removal, and other duties to support operations.MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES
Operate heavy equipment as needed Load over the road haul trucks to the required weight, using a WA500 Kamatsu Loader Must fill out pre- shift safety checklist on all machines instructed to operate Manage material stockpiles Manage backfill plant operations through use of control room interface Inspect backfill and shotcrete material to ensure product quality Troubleshooting complications with the backfill plant Complete reports accurately and thoroughly Participate in operational and safety training Cleaning and performing minor maintenance Must be alert to any conditions which could pose a safety hazard or result in injury or equipment breakdown or damage, and to report or correct such conditions immediately Assist with underground haulage and utility crews when needed Performs other duties as assigned
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum of High School Diploma or GED Previous concrete, maintenance, or industrial experience preferred 1+ Years of Heavy equipment operating experience required Experience with Microsoft Suite preferred Experience with SAP preferredKEY PERSONAL COMPETENCIES
