Petroleum Service Technician Kraft Tank - 3.5 La Porte, TX Job Details Full-time 10 hours ago Qualifications Customer communication Full Job Description At Kraft Tank Corporation, we specialize in the tank trailer industry and have built our reputation on quality service, technical expertise, and safety. We are seeking an experienced Petroleum Tank Trailer Service Technician with strong hands-on knowledge of petroleum transport trailers and their associated systems and components. This position is intended for a technician who is already proficient in petroleum tank trailer inspection, diagnosis, maintenance, and repair. The ideal candidate will have direct experience working on petroleum trailers and be comfortable troubleshooting and repairing petroleum-specific equipment with limited supervision. We are specifically looking for candidates who have worked directly with petroleum transport trailers and understand their specialized components and systems . Candidates with extensive general trailer experience but limited petroleum tank trailer exposure should clearly identify any relevant tank, fuel transport, or petroleum equipment experience when applying. Position Responsibilities Diagnose, service, and repair petroleum tank trailers and related equipment. Troubleshoot petroleum trailer systems and identify necessary repairs. Inspect, repair, replace, and service petroleum trailer components including API heads/adapters, emergency valves, butterfly valves, vapor recovery systems, piping, fittings, vents, gaskets, and dome assemblies. Diagnose and repair leaks and other issues involving petroleum trailer product and vapor systems. Perform preventative maintenance and equipment inspections on petroleum tank trailers. Diagnose and repair trailer electrical and lighting systems. Perform brake, brake chamber, suspension, tire, and other general trailer repairs as needed. Identify additional repairs or safety concerns during inspections and immediately communicate discrepancies or changes to the Service Manager and Service Advisors. Complete assigned repairs according to established procedures, customer requirements, and applicable safety standards. Properly document work performed and parts used on repair orders. Maintain a clean and organized work area by cleaning the bay after each job, returning unused parts, and properly disposing of materials. Follow all company safety procedures when working on petroleum tank trailers and associated components. Perform additional service responsibilities as directed by the Shop Foreman or Service Manager. Preferred Qualifications Minimum of two years of tank trailer repair experience preferred, with petroleum trailer experience strongly desired. Experience replacing and repairing API components, emergency valves, butterfly valves, vapor components, piping, fittings, dome assemblies, and related petroleum equipment. Knowledge of petroleum tank trailer preventative maintenance and inspection requirements. Proven experience performing trailer repair work proficiently. Strong time management and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. A valid driver's license to operate a hostler in the yard. High School Diploma or equivalent. A minimum of two years of experience in the automotive and/or trucking repairs industry. Physical Requirements Must be able to stand, walk, bend, crouch, stoop, climb and sit for extended periods of time in a warehouse environment. Ability to lift up to 75lbs. Must be able to communicate effectively in written and verbal skills with customers, management, and team members. Travel as needed to other Company locations by vehicle, plane, or train.
