You will learn to install and work with: Underground storage tanks (USTs) Aboveground storage tanks (ASTs) Underground fuel piping Secondary containment systems STP sumps Dispenser containment systems Fuel dispensers Vent and fill piping Fuel-system monitoring equipment Concrete and excavation associated with petroleum construction Pressure and containment testing You will work alongside experienced petroleum construction personnel while learning a specialized trade. What You'll Do As a Petroleum Construction Apprentice, you will: Assist with installation and replacement of commercial petroleum systems Assist with underground and aboveground storage tank installations Install and assemble fuel piping and containment systems under supervision Assist with UDCs, STP sumps, dispensers, and associated equipment Perform excavation, demolition, backfill, compaction, and concrete-related work Use hand and power tools Measure and lay out construction work Load, unload, stage, and organize materials Read and learn petroleum construction plans Assist with pressure and containment testing Prepare installations for inspections Maintain clean and organized jobsites Follow Fuel Pros safety requirements Travel to project locations throughout Southern California Who We're Looking For You do NOT need previous gas station or petroleum construction experience. We're interested in people with backgrounds such as: General construction Plumbing / pipefitting Electrical Welding Excavation Concrete Equipment operation Automotive or diesel repair Industrial maintenance Mechanical installation Military mechanical/construction experience We're also interested in entry-level candidates who have strong mechanical ability and genuinely want to learn a skilled trade.

Physical & Jobsite Requirements This is a hands-on construction position. Employees must be capable of performing the physical duties associated with petroleum construction, including working outdoors, standing for extended periods, bending, kneeling, climbing, working around excavations, and lifting and carrying construction materials and equipment.
