Directional Drilling Crew Supervisor (Class A CDL Required)Overview We are seeking an experienced Directional Drilling Crew Supervisor to lead HDD crews on utility installation projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily jobsite operations, directing crew members, ensuring safe and efficient production, and transporting drilling equipment to and from project locations. This is a hands-on leadership role for an individual who can effectively manage personnel, maintain productivity, communicate project progress, and uphold the highest safety standards while working in the field. Responsibilities Supervise and lead directional drilling crews in daily field operations. Transport drilling equipment, trailers, and support equipment to and from job sites using a Class A CDL. Coordinate and manage all jobsite activities to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule. Assign tasks, provide direction to crew members, and monitor performance throughout the project. Conduct daily safety meetings and enforce company safety policies and procedures. Review project plans, utility locates, and work orders before beginning operations. Monitor drilling progress and troubleshoot field issues as they arise. Ensure proper care, maintenance, and operation of drilling equipment and vehicles. Track daily production, material usage, and project progress. Complete and submit accurate daily reports to management. Maintain communication with project managers, customers, inspectors, and utility representatives. Ensure all work is completed according to company, customer, and regulatory standards. Qualifications Valid Class A CDL required. Minimum 3 years of directional drilling and underground utility installation experience. Previous crew leadership or supervisory experience preferred. Strong understanding of HDD operations, utility locates, and safe excavation practices. Ability to read and interpret construction plans and utility maps. Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and industry best practices. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Willingness to travel as needed for project assignments.
