Donahoo Contracting Co., Inc. is seeking an experienced Equipment Operator for our Mass Grading and Underground Utility Crews . This position plays a critical role in the mass grading, fine grading, and installation of underground utilities (including water, force mains, sewer, and storm drainage systems). Key Responsibilities Operate heavy equipment of various sizes for digging, trenching, hauling, compacting, loading, and other grading tasks The ideal candidate must have a proven track record of efficiently and safely operating excavators Assess capabilities and limitations for lifting and hoisting various items, including shoring and precast structures Perform complex tasks such as fine grading, slope creation, precision trenching, and working in tight or restricted spaces Read and interpret construction drawings to establish layout and grading Identify and address grading discrepancies Additional Requirements and Safety Standards Work as part of a crew, taking direction from supervisors and foremen Communicate clearly with team members to ensure efficient and accurate job completion Follow all OSHA, MSHA, and company safety regulations and wear required PPE at all times Recognize potential site hazards, including underground utilities, unstable ground, shoring issues, and overhead obstructions. Perform daily pre-operation inspections and routine maintenance. Qualifications Experience working on a mass grading crew preferred Experience working on underground utility or pipe crews preferred Experience working around heavy equipment Strong understanding of jobsite safety practices Ability to follow instructions and work well within a team environment Reliable attendance and strong work ethic Benefits Competitive pay based on experience Opportunities for advancement Weekly pay Health and dental insurance options 401(k) Paid time off (PTO) and holidays
