Job Description

T.E. Stevens Construction is seeking a dependable and safety-conscious Heavy Equipment Operator Class B with a minimum of three (3) years of experience operating heavy construction equipment, including bulldozers and excavators. While this operator may not have the advanced proficiency of a Class A operator, they should be capable of completing general excavation, grading, and site preparation tasks with supervision and guidance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Operate bulldozers and excavators for site development, trenching, backfilling, and gradingAssist in general earthmoving and utility installation projectsFollow directions from supervisors and work closely with ground crews and other operatorsRead and interpret basic grade stakes and instructions for excavation and backfillPerform pre-operation equipment inspections and report mechanical issuesMaintain clean and safe work areas around equipmentFollow all company and regulatory safety protocols, including MSHA and OSHA requirementsSupport higher-level operators and crews as neededDemonstrate a willingness to learn and improve technical skills over time
