Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Marine Excavator Operator and become a vital part of our construction and utility projects along waterways, coastal areas, and marine environments. In this role, you will operate heavy-duty excavators, including specialized marine excavators, to perform excavation, dredging, and utility installation tasks with precision and safety. Your expertise will help ensure efficient project execution while adhering to strict safety standards and environmental regulations. Responsibilities Operate marine excavators and related construction machinery such as loaders, water trucks, and Caterpillar equipment to carry out excavation, dredging, and utility work in marine or waterfront settings Perform routine maintenance and inspections on heavy equipment to ensure optimal operation and safety compliance Utilize utility locating tools to identify underground utilities before excavation to prevent damage or accidents Follow federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures at all times to maintain a safe work environment Assist with construction grading, site preparation, and waterway dredging activities with precision and efficiency Coordinate with team members to execute construction utility work, including installing pipelines, cables, or other infrastructure in marine environments Adhere to all safety regulations related to heavy equipment operation, construction site protocols, and environmental protection measures Maintain detailed records of equipment usage, maintenance logs, and project progress reports Ensure all operations comply with environmental standards and local maritime regulations Experience Previous experience operating marine excavators or similar heavy construction machinery in waterfront or marine environments is highly preferred Strong knowledge of construction utility work, excavation techniques, and construction site safety procedures Familiarity with federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety standards is essential Hands-on experience with Caterpillar equipment or other major brands such as John Deere or Komatsu is advantageous Proven ability to perform routine maintenance on complex machinery including mechanical troubleshooting and repairs Construction experience involving grading, utility installation, or dredging projects is highly desirable Demonstrated understanding of waterway management practices and utility locating techniques is a plus Join us in delivering impactful infrastructure projects that enhance waterways while working in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.
