Duties Operate light duty and heavy duty tow trucks safely and efficiently to recover and transport vehicles of all sizes. Conduct vehicle inspections and perform minor mechanical repairs or troubleshooting as needed to prepare vehicles for towing or delivery. Secure vehicles onto flatbeds or other tow truck platforms following cargo securement protocols to prevent damage during transit. Utilize automotive diagnostics and mechanical knowledge to identify issues quickly and perform basic repairs or adjustments. Manage vehicle recovery towing operations, including accident scenes or breakdowns, ensuring safety for all parties involved. Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients, explaining services, and managing conflict professionally when necessary. Load and unload vehicles carefully, adhering to safety standards and manual transmission operation requirements. Requirements Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record; experience with commercial truck driving preferred. Proven experience in automotive repair, diagnostics, or mechanic work, especially related to trucks or heavy vehicles. Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems, minor mechanical repairs, and basic troubleshooting skills. Familiarity with cargo securement protocols, vehicle loading procedures, and safe vehicle loading onto tow trucks. Ability to operate flatbed tow trucks, car carriers, manual transmissions, and specialized recovery equipment confidently. Excellent conflict management skills with a focus on customer service; ability to remain calm under pressure. Knowledge of vehicle mechanics specific to truck drivers and understanding of load & unload procedures for various vehicle types.
