Job Description

The Facilities Maintenance Technician assists with operations of City owned buildings, executing maintenance requests from internal and external customers and performing planned maintenance on equipment including but not limited to Plumbing, HVAC, and Electrical. This position assists the Public Works team on projects. This job description aims to outline the primary duties and responsibilities of this role. Employees may be asked to undertake job-related tasks other than those explicitly listed. Completion of work orders assigned. Planned maintenance on systems and equipment throughout the city buildings. Moving of furniture and offices. Painting, plastering and general drywall repairs. Installation of equipment including but not limited to signage, cubicles, HVAC, plumbing, etc. General construction knowledge and applications. Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings. Working knowledge of building code and its applications. Understanding internal and external (OSHA) safety policies. Utilize computer-based programs and software to assist with tracking of work and communicate with supervisor. Other duties as assigned. Education and Experience High School diploma or GED Two (2) years of experience in a related field.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS HVAC
Certification. CPO (Certified Pool Operator)
OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS
Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona driver's license or obtain one within thirty (30) days of hire, unless a qualifying military exception applies. Documentation for any military-related exception must be submitted to Human Resources. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screening in accordance with the City's Drug and Alcohol Policy and applicable law. Drug Screening includes testing for THC. Clean driving record.
Knowledge of:
Working knowledge of computer applications. HVAC. Plumbing. Mechanical. Electrical. Carpentry.
