Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a Heavy Equipment Operator and become a vital part of construction projects that build communities and infrastructure! In this energetic role, you will operate a variety of heavy machinery to execute site development, earthmoving, and material handling tasks with precision and safety. Your expertise will help ensure projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. Duties Operate heavy construction machinery including dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, cranes, dump trucks, water trucks, roll-off trucks, tanker trucks, and farm machinery to perform earthmoving, grading, lifting, and material transportation tasks. Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on construction equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance. Follow all safety procedures and occupational safety regulations while operating machinery and handling materials on-site. Use hand tools and hydraulics systems for minor repairs or adjustments to equipment as needed. Safely load, unload, and transport construction materials using appropriate material handling equipment such as forklifts or front loader trucks. Collaborate with team members to coordinate equipment use efficiently across different phases of the project. Maintain detailed records of equipment operation logs, safety checks, and maintenance activities to ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards. Qualifications Proven experience operating heavy construction machinery such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, cranes (including crane operation), and other construction equipment. Strong knowledge of hydraulics systems, equipment maintenance procedures, and safety regulations related to heavy machinery operation. Construction site experience with familiarity in concrete mixing processes and the use of hand tools for minor repairs. Valid commercial driver's license with experience in commercial truck driving including dump trucks, water trucks, roll-off trucks, tanker trucks or similar vehicles. Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting equipment issues quickly to minimize downtime. Ability to adhere strictly to occupational safety regulations and use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times on-site. Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and ensuring safe operations across multiple machinery types.
