Grand Junction, CO Job Overview We are hiring an experienced Equipment Operator to join our growing residential construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating heavy equipment to complete excavation, grading, backfilling, site preparation, and other construction-related work. This position is ideal for someone with previous equipment-operating experience who takes pride in accurate, efficient work. We are also willing to consider someone with strong mechanical aptitude, good judgment, and the ability to learn our systems and processes. Key Responsibilities Operate heavy equipment, including excavators, skid steers, backhoes, and loaders Perform site grading, trenching, backfilling, excavation, and site-preparation work Complete pre-shift equipment inspections and assist with routine equipment maintenance Read site plans, grade stakes, and construction plans to complete work accurately Safely maneuver equipment in and around residential properties and areas with limited access Coordinate with supervisors and other crew members to keep projects on schedule Maintain clean and properly cared-for equipment Promptly report equipment damage, mechanical concerns, or unsafe conditions Follow company safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment Qualifications Previous experience operating heavy equipment in construction, excavation, site development, or a similar environment required Valid driver's license required Ability to read site plans and perform excavation and grading work accurately Strong mechanical aptitude Safety-conscious and aware of surroundings while operating equipment Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a crew Physically capable of operating equipment for extended periods and working outdoors in varying weather conditions Benefits Medical plan Dental and Vision Insurance Supplemental insurance plans, including hospital indemnity, cancer, short-term disability, accident, and life insurance Retirement program Paid Time Off, including floating holiday and sick leave Overtime opportunities Mentorship and career advancement opportunities Bi-weekly pay cycle Schedule Full-time Monday through Friday Day shifts Overtime may be available Home every night Work Location On-site at residential construction projects throughout the Grand Junction area.
