Position Overview Foshee Construction is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Finish Loader Operator to join our field team in Central Florida. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating a wheel loader for roadway base, aggregate placement, fine grading, and site preparation . This position plays an important role in preparing and maintaining accurate grades for roadways, building pads, and other site development projects. The right candidate understands how to work with base materials, maintain proper elevations, and work efficiently alongside grade crews, dozer operators, excavator operators, and other field personnel. Key Responsibilities Operate a wheel loader safely and efficiently on active construction sites Perform finish grading and precision material placement for roadway and site development projects Load, spread, level, and maintain roadway base and aggregate materials to required elevations and specifications Fine-grade roadway base, subgrade, building pads, and other project areas as directed Maintain proper material depth, grade, slope, and drainage requirements Assist with roadway preparation, site preparation, backfilling, and material handling Work closely with grade crews, pipe crews, equipment operators, and supervisors to meet project requirements Read and understand grade stakes, elevations, plans, and other jobsite information Use laser levels, GPS systems, or other grade-control equipment when required Make adjustments to material placement and grading based on field conditions and grade requirements Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance or mechanical issues Keep equipment and work areas clean and organized Follow all OSHA, company, and project-specific safety requirements Maintain a productive and professional work environment Qualifications 2-3+ years of experience operating a wheel loader, preferably in roadway, site development, or heavy civil construction Hands-on experience placing, spreading, and finishing roadway base or aggregate materials strongly preferred Experience with fine grading, site preparation, and earthwork Ability to operate a loader with precision while maintaining proper grade and material depth Ability to read and understand grade stakes, elevations, and basic site plans Experience working around survey and grade crews Familiarity with GPS or laser-guided grading systems is a plus Knowledge of roadway construction and base preparation is highly preferred Strong understanding of jobsite safety and equipment awareness Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic Valid driver's license and reliable transportation High school diploma or equivalent preferred Ability to communicate and understand English Physical Requirements Operate heavy equipment for extended periods Work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, and varying weather conditions Frequently climb in and out of equipment and navigate uneven or active jobsite terrain Lift and carry materials weighing 50+ lbs. as needed Maintain alertness, coordination, and situational awareness in active construction environments Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
