Job description Voyager Trucking Corporation is a waste hauling company that specializes in the transportation and brokerage of municipal solid waste, construction and demolition, biosolids, mulch and recyclables; from transfer stations and manufacturing facilities to landfills and incinerators in the northeast corridor. We are currently looking to hire a qualified Heavy Equipment Operator out of the Norcross, GA are, specifically an Excavator Operator. This is a full-time position. We offer competitive salaries along with a comprehensive benefits package for the right candidates. The successful candidates must possess a minimum of 2 years of experience. Salary is based on $25.00 per hour rate plus OT. Minimally 50 hrs per week.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Assist in the loading of 100 yard open top trailers with municipal solid waste, construction and demolition debris Operators experienced with the Volvo EC355 Excavator and possibly the Volvo L180 Loader Must be able to operate heavy equipment in compliance with the company's operating safety policies and procedures Conducts routine equipment inspections and performs preventative maintenance on equipment; maintains accurate records Follows appropriate standard operating procedures as guideline for operating and maintaining vehicle Performs other duties as assigned Sorting of materials
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Operate heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life.
MAIN ACTIVITIES
Operate all heavy equipment in a safe and efficient way per all relevant legislation, policies and procedures Perform daily safety and maintenance checks Clean heavy equipment as scheduled and/or required Ensure heavy equipment is safely and securely stored Advise the Supervisor of any requirements for maintenance or repairs Participate in routine maintenance Practice workplace safety Complete all paperwork
KNOWLEDGE OF
Safety regulations and precautions pertaining to vehicle use Safe and proper use of assigned equipment and tools
JOB DESCRIPTION REQUIREMENTS
Understand and follow instructions from supervisors Follow all safety instructions Report to work on time and as scheduled
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed outdoors. Operator drives on surface streets and operates equipment on unpaved surfaces. Operator occasionally works past normal office hours to complete assignments. The Heavy Equipment Operator has a physically strenuous and demanding job. He/she will be lifting, pulling, and managing heavy equipment and objects. The Heavy Equipment Operator must work in all weather and must be prepared for both extreme heat and cold. The Heavy Equipment Operator must ensure that all activities are completed in a safe and efficient way. Minor maintenance of machinery (checking all fluids, greasing all fittings, changing filters, and fueling at the end of the workday)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Previously worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for a minimum of 2 years Pass hands on maneuvering and loading Valid Driver's License and Reliable Transportation Must be able to work M-F (Rotating Saturday's required)
