Job Description
Experienced Heavy Equipment Operators needed for Solar Site in Kirtland, NM Monday-Saturday schedule (some Sundays). Job Description This role involves operating heavy equipment to move and haul dirt, clear work areas, and backfill trenches on non-residential construction sites. You will support civil construction and dirt work activities, contributing to fast-paced projects with daily production goals. Responsibilities Operate heavy construction equipment, including skid steers and other machinery, to move and haul dirt safely and efficiently. Clear designated work areas to prepare sites for ongoing civil construction activities. Backfill trenches accurately to project specifications, ensuring safe and stable ground conditions. Carry out general dirt work and earthmoving tasks as directed by site supervisors. Use basic hand and power tools fluently to support equipment operation and general construction tasks. Work to daily production targets, maintaining high output in a fast-paced environment. Follow all site safety procedures and guidelines while operating equipment and moving around uneven ground. Adapt to changing site conditions and priorities, maintaining productivity under pressure. Collaborate with site teams and communicate clearly to coordinate equipment movements and work sequences. Maintain a clean and organized work area and equipment, reporting any issues or defects promptly. Essential Skills Proven experience operating heavy equipment on construction projects. Experience in civil construction and dirt work, including earthmoving and site preparation. Hands-on experience operating heavy equipment such as skid steers. Ability to work fluently with basic hand tools and power tools on construction sites. Previous experience working on active construction sites, preferably non-residential. Capability to meet daily production goals in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Comfort working outdoors in extreme temperature conditions. Ability to walk and work safely on uneven ground and variable terrain. Strong awareness of site safety practices when operating heavy equipment. Experience across a range of heavy equipment types used in civil and dirt moving projects. Familiarity with non-residential construction environments and site logistics. Ability to adapt quickly to changing work demands and priorities on site. Reliable attendance and punctuality for early morning starts. Hiring right away, apply with updated resume! Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Kirtland, NM. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $28.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
