Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Heavy Equipment Operator to join our construction team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for operating a wide range of construction machinery to facilitate building projects, dredging, and site preparation. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of heavy equipment operation, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols, contributing to the successful completion of various construction projects. Responsibilities Operate heavy machinery including dozers, skid loaders, backhoes, excavators, cranes, and dump trucks to perform dredging, earthmoving, grading, lifting, and material handling tasks. Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of construction equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. Follow established safety procedures and utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times during operations. Coordinate with site supervisors and team members to execute project plans efficiently while adhering to safety standards. Handle materials safely using appropriate material handling equipment such as forklifts or front loader trucks. Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance activities, and safety checks. Assist in setting up construction sites by preparing the terrain and positioning machinery as needed. Comply with occupational safety regulations and company policies to uphold a safe working environment. Experience Proven experience operating construction machinery such as dozers, loaders, excavators, cranes (including tower cranes), and backhoes on active construction sites. Knowledge of hydraulics systems, mechanical maintenance practices, and troubleshooting techniques for heavy equipment. Familiarity with construction site safety regulations and proper use of PPE. Experience with commercial truck driving including operation of tanker trucks, water trucks, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and front loader trucks. Ability to perform routine maintenance on equipment and identify mechanical issues promptly. Prior work involving concrete mixers or farm machinery is advantageous. Strong understanding of occupational safety standards related to heavy equipment operation.
