Vista Construction & Development is a growing construction company based in Post Falls, ID, specializing in high-quality commercial site development. We pride ourselves on delivering excellence from the ground up, with a focus on integrity, safety, and teamwork.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Heavy Equipment Operator with expertise in civil excavation to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating various types of heavy equipment and working on site preparation, trenching, grading, and utility installation for civil construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate heavy equipment including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, skid steers, and compactors for civil excavation work. Perform trenching, grading, backfilling, and sloping in accordance with engineered plans and site specifications. Load and transport materials safely and efficiently around job sites. Read and interpret site plans, blueprints, and grade stakes with a strong understanding of elevations and slopes. Collaborate with foremen, pipe layers, laborers, and other team members to ensure timely and accurate project completion. Conduct daily pre-operation inspections and basic maintenance of equipment. Follow all safety regulations, protocols, and OSHA standards at all times.
Requirements:
Minimum 3 years of experience operating heavy equipment in civil excavation or site development. Proficient with GPS and/or laser grading systems is a plus. Valid driver's license (CDL preferred but not required). Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and in varying weather conditions. Strong understanding of jobsite safety and best practices. Team-oriented attitude with excellent communication skills.

$28.00 - $35.00 per hour
