Job Description
Job Summary West Coral Communications is seeking an experienced RT120 Vibratory Plow Foreman to lead an underground telecommunications construction crew. The ideal candidate will have experience operating a Ditch Witch RT120 ride-on vibratory plow , safely transporting equipment with a CDL, reading construction prints, and managing daily field operations. This position requires a hands-on leader who can operate equipment, oversee crew productivity, ensure quality workmanship, and maintain a strong commitment to safety while meeting production goals. Responsibilities Safely operate a Ditch Witch RT120 vibratory plow to install underground telecommunications conduit and fiber infrastructure. Transport the RT120 and associated equipment using a CDL-compliant truck and trailer. Lead and supervise daily activities of underground construction crews. Read and interpret utility prints, construction plans, and locate markings. Coordinate with utility locators, inspectors, project managers, customers, and other contractors to ensure safe and efficient project completion. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks, trailers, and equipment. Ensure all work complies with company standards, customer specifications, and OSHA safety requirements. Verify proper installation depths, conduit placement, and restoration of disturbed areas. Operate additional equipment as needed, including mini excavators, skid steers, trenchers, and support equipment. Maintain accurate daily production reports, equipment inspections, and job documentation. Train and mentor crew members while promoting a positive, productive work environment. Troubleshoot field issues and make sound decisions to keep projects on schedule. Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment when necessary. Qualifications 1-3 years of experience operating a Ditch Witch RT120 or similar ride-on vibratory cable plow. Previous experience as a Foreman or Crew Leader in underground utility or telecommunications construction. Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record. Experience hauling heavy equipment and operating trucks with trailers. Strong knowledge of underground utility construction practices and utility locating requirements. Ability to read construction prints, staking sheets, and utility locate markings. Experience installing telecommunications conduit and fiber optic infrastructure preferred. Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and safe excavation practices. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and travel when required. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physically demanding work. Preferred Qualifications Experience with fiber optic construction projects. Experience operating mini excavators, skid steers, trenchers, and restoration equipment. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification.
