Job Description
Mago Construction Company is a family-owned asphalt paving contractor headquartered in Bardstown, Kentucky, with asphalt plants, two rock quarries, and construction operations throughout the Commonwealth. We are seeking a dependable, hardworking Plant Laborer / Loader Operator to join our team at our Tyrone (Lawrenceburg) Asphalt Plant . This position offers an excellent opportunity to begin or grow a career in the asphalt and construction industry. No prior asphalt plant experience is required—we're willing to train the right individual with a strong work ethic and commitment to safety. The Plant Laborer / Loader Operator assists with the daily operation and maintenance of the asphalt plant, including operating equipment, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and supporting plant production. Assist with the daily operation of the asphalt plant. Perform general labor duties, including housekeeping and keeping the plant clean and organized. Help with preventative maintenance, greasing equipment, and minor repairs. Assist with equipment inspections and report maintenance concerns. Load and stock materials as needed to support production. Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations. Work collaboratively with plant operators, mechanics, truck drivers, and other team members. Perform other duties as assigned. Job Requirements High school diploma or GED preferred. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Comfortable working around heavy equipment and at elevated heights. Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 pounds. Reliable transportation and dependable attendance. Willingness to work overtime and Saturdays as business needs require. Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment. Qualifications, Skills & Competencies Preferred Qualifications (Not Required) Experience operating a front-end loader or other heavy equipment. Mechanical, maintenance, or welding experience. Experience working in an asphalt plant, quarry, construction, or manufacturing environment. Basic equipment maintenance knowledge. Skills & Competencies Strong work ethic and positive attitude. Safety-minded with attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn. Dependable, reliable, and self-motivated. Good communication skills.
