Job Description
Class Title The Driver/Operator, Heavy Equipment is responsible for driving trucks with a capacity of more than 26,001 pounds to transport workers, materials, tools, vehicles, things and objects. Drives and/or operates heavy equipment. Duties 1. Drivers and/or cranes, draglines, bulldozers, wreckers, backhoe, slurry machines, grade-alls, graders, pulvi-mixer, concrete mixer, laydown machine, pneumatic road roller, iron wheel roller, sweeper flusher, and/or dump truck (5-18 yards). 2. Drives and operates the equipment to excavate, grade, level, pull, push, lift and dump earth and other things and objects such as trees, stumps, supplies, ashes, trash, garbage and materials. 3. May be assigned to work alone or with laborers. 4. May assist in loading and unloading truck. 5. Conducts pre-trip and post-trip inspections at the start and end of each day. 6. Complies with all risk management and OSHA policies and procedures, before, during and after job. 7. Trains new members on safe work practices. 8. Regularly attends all required safety, job-related, and certification training classes as required. 9. Services (gas, oil, water, clean, grease and etc.) and performs minor maintenance (e.g. fuses, mud flaps, safety) on assigned equipment. 10. Performs other duties as required or assigned.
