The Town of Shrewsbury's Highway Division is seeking a motivated and reliable Special Equipment Operator or Laborer to join our dedicated Public Works team! You'll perform a variety of hands-on tasks that keep Shrewsbury's roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems in top condition. From operating loaders, backhoes, dump trucks, and sweepers to repairing catch basins and clearing storm drains, every day offers new challenges and opportunities to make a difference in your town. What You'll Do Operate and maintain heavy equipment such as front-end loaders, backhoes, street sweepers, snowplows, and other machinery used in highway maintenance and construction. Perform road repairs, drainage installation, tree work, and storm cleanup. Inspect and maintain vehicles and equipment, ensuring they are safe and ready to use. Respond to public works and weather emergencies, including snow and ice operations. Work collaboratively with contractors, residents, and other departments to complete public projects efficiently.
