Job Description
We seek a reliable, mechanically inclined Equipment Operator to join our mulch manufacturing team. This role is hands-on and ideal for someone who understands heavy equipment, enjoys troubleshooting, and takes pride in keeping operations running efficiently.
Pay range:
$21-$22 Operate heavy equipment experience operating heavy equipment, including front-end loaders, excavators, grinders, and screeners
Scheduled Working Hours:
Monday thru Friday, 7am to 5pm. Saturdays 7am to 3pm.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate heavy equipment including wheel loaders (Volvo L90), excavators, grinders, and dye machines Keeping yard area neat and organized. Some labor work will be involved. Monitor production processes to ensure consistent, high-quality mulch output Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and basic repairs on equipment Troubleshoot mechanical issues and minimize downtime Load, move, and process raw materials safely and efficiently Maintain a clean and organized work environment Follow all safety protocols and company procedures
Qualifications:
Prior experience operating heavy equipment required Loading customer and commercial vehicles. Operate heavy equipment experience operating heavy equipment, including front-end loaders, excavators, grinders, and screeners Strong mechanical aptitude (ability to diagnose and fix minor equipment issues) Experience in manufacturing, landscaping materials, or similar environment preferred Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor setting in varying weather conditions Able to work some labor duties. Dependable, hardworking, and safety-focused Willingness to work a Monday-Saturday schedule Working Conditions Work performed in an outdoor setting environment in conditions like noise, hot or cold temperatures Experience in working outdoor environment or yard settings and able to work in outdoor/yard settings. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required. Minimum Qualifications Operate heavy equipment experience operating heavy equipment, including front-end loaders, excavators, grinders, and screeners Ability to lift and handle freight/materials up to 75 pounds throughout the workday. Bilingual (English and Spanish) is helpful . Able to pass background and drug screening.

Pay range:
$21-$22 The base salary for this position typically falls within the range of $19.00 to $20.91 per hour. Starting wage may vary based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position being offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. SRS Distribution offers additional competitive and non-financial benefits. Hourly associates may be eligible for overtime based on business needs. Depending on the role, associates may also be eligible for performance-based bonus programs, commissions, car allowance or automobile and fuel program, and reimbursement for travel expenses in accordance with company travel policy.
