Job Description

We are seeking equipment operators and laborers. As an Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for operating a variety of heavy machinery and equipment to assist in construction and maintenance projects. As a laborer, you will be expected to be able to perform duties such as shoveling, pipework, minor concrete work, measuring, etc.
Responsibilities:
  • Operate and maintain various types of heavy equipment, including but not limited to excavators, dozers, loaders, dump trucks, backhoes, graders, water trucks, and directional drilling equipment.
  • Safely and efficiently operate equipment to perform tasks such as digging, paving, grading, and moving materials
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functioning
  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment
  • Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to ensure project goals are met
  • Adhere to project schedules and deadlines
Requirements:
  • Proven experience operating heavy equipment in a construction or similar setting
  • Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of equipment operation principles
  • Physical fitness/health. This is a very physically challenging position. Shoveling, lifting, and climbing up/down are all involved.
  • Proficiency in operating various types of heavy machinery, including loaders, backhoes, dump trucks, graders, and water trucks
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints or construction plans
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
A CDL is a plus, and will be compensated fairly. We do private work, as well as public and commercial. We do some prevailing wage work as well. Pay will be based on experience and ability. We are willing to train, and there is room to grow here at Apex.
