Snow Heavy Equipment Operator Greenscape Services is seeking dependable Snow Heavy Equipment Operators to join our winter snow removal team. The primary responsibility of this position is operating skid steers and wheel loaders to safely and efficiently clear snow from commercial properties throughout the Duluth/Hermantown area. Previous snow removal experience and equipment operating experience is strongly preferred. Operators may also occasionally be assigned to operate a pickup truck with plow or other snow removal equipment based on the needs of a particular snow event. Snow operations are weather-dependent and require employees to be available on-call, including nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays when winter weather occurs. Primary Responsibilities Operate wheel loaders and skid steers for commercial snow removal. Plow, push, stack, and relocate snow according to property maps and designated snow storage locations. Occasionally operate pickup trucks with snowplows or other snow removal equipment as assigned. Safely operate around vehicles, curbs, islands, buildings, signs, light poles, fire hydrants, landscaping, and other property features. Work safely around other snow removal equipment and personnel. Perform pre-operation and post-operation equipment inspections. Report equipment damage, mechanical concerns, property damage, or unsafe conditions promptly. Maintain communication with supervisors and other members of the snow operations team. Follow assigned routes, property instructions, and snow management plans. Assist with snow relocation or loading operations when required. Perform basic equipment cleaning and maintenance as assigned. Follow all company safety policies and operating procedures. Remain available throughout assigned snow events until released by a supervisor. Required Qualifications Previous snow removal experience is preferred. Skid steer and/or wheel loader operating experience is strongly preferred. Commercial snow removal experience is preferred. Ability and willingness to operate other snow removal equipment when assigned. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Reliable transportation to and from the assigned reporting location. Ability to safely work in winter weather and changing site conditions. Ability to work extended and irregular hours during snow and ice events. Availability for nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays as weather conditions require. Ability to work independently while following property maps and supervisor instructions. Dependable attendance and ability to report for scheduled/on-call snow events with appropriate notice. Strong situational awareness and commitment to protecting customer property and company equipment. Work Environment & Schedule This is a seasonal, on-call, weather-dependent part time position . Hours are not guaranteed and will vary based on snowfall, icing conditions, and operational needs. Snow events may require extended shifts and work during overnight hours, weekends, and holidays. Operators will primarily work from heated equipment cabs but must be prepared to work outdoors in snow, wind, ice, and extreme cold when necessary. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, and experienced with snow removal operations. Previous experience operating skid steers, wheel loaders, or similar equipment is strongly preferred. Candidates must be flexible regarding equipment assignments and able to follow snow maps, property-specific instructions, and supervisor direction while working efficiently as part of the snow operations team.
Pay:
$30.00 - $35.00 per hour Expected hours: 1.0 - 40.0 per week
