Equipment Operator Job Description:

We are seeking a critical Equipment Operator to join our fertilizer and compost production operations. The Equipment Operator will operate a variety of medium to heavy-duty equipment and trucks used for fertilizer application, compost production, storage, management, and site maintenance. The ideal candidate plays a key role in supporting good-for-the-earth growing operations through daily machinery operation, preventative maintenance, and site safety management. This is a full-time, direct hire position located in Hayfield, MN.

Equipment Operator Job Responsibilities:

Operate medium and heavy equipment (including skid steers, tractors, floaters, dump trucks, conveyors, and compost turners) for loading, hauling, and unloading materials Utilize power and hand tools (welders, torches, saws, grinders, drills) to perform routine inspection, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment Maintain company property and grounds through tree/brush removal, snow plowing, road repair, and general clean-up Perform material handling, storage, and manual labor tasks across the facility and active job sites Set up traffic control devices and perform flagging duties to guide traffic through work areas as needed Maintain a safe and secure job site by following all OSHA guidelines, utilizing proper PPE, and reporting hazards or incidents immediately Assist in training lower-level employees on maintenance and repair tasks as assigned Support overall team operations by completing additional tasks assigned by management

Equipment Operator Job Requirements & Working Conditions:

High School Diploma or GED Equivalent Required 2-4 Years of Experience Operating Medium to Heavy Equipment Required (Minimum 2 Years Related to Construction, Agriculture, or Fertilizer Application) Valid Minnesota Driver's License Required; CDL License Preferred Proficiency with iOS or Android Devices for Email, Messaging, and Navigation Applications Must Be Able to Lift or Move Up to 50 lbs. Frequently and Up to 100 lbs. Occasionally Must Be Comfortable Working Outdoors in Extreme Weather Conditions (Heat, Cold, Wet/Humid) & Exposure to Vibration, Loud Noise, Dust, or Chemicals Ability to
