The salary range listed in this job description is a base salary. Applicants eligible for years-of-service adjustments or shift differentials may exceed salary range listed above. This position is with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Division of State Parks, and will be located at 1659 E. Elm St. Jefferson City, Missouri. Work assignments are located over a large geographic area of Missouri that will require travel and overnight stays during the workweek. This position will travel and work in state parks and historic sites throughout Missouri Responsibilities
  • What you'll do
  • Complete skilled work assignments in the operation of medium and heavy equipment used in earth
  • moving, construction and maintenance.
  • Operate equipment including, but not limited to tractors, bulldozers, road graders, cranes,
  • aerial devices, backhoes, skid steers, forklifts, dump trucks and other types of heavy
  • equipment.
  • Read, understand, follow and complete projects using blueprints and plans
  • Load, transport, and unload medium and heavy equipment effectively and safely
  • Perform material estimating and make material purchases, as needed or requested following all department purchasing policies.
  • Perform manual work requiring heavy lifting, reaching and bending.
  • Perform minor Maintenance (i.e. Grease) and maintain a preventative maintenance schedule

  • This position is required to maintain a Class A Commercial Driver's License and must remain in compliance with random drug and alcohol testing. To be successful in this position, a candidate will need the following skills:
  • Ability to understand and complete assignments received orally or by written orders from
  • Ability to create and interpret ketches, penciled layouts, or blueprints
  • Ability to operate, load, transport, and unload a variety of medium and heavy equipment
  • Possess and apply load securement knowledge
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work independently
  • Must be able to travel and stay overnight during the work week, i.e. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights Equivalent to those typically gained by:
  • Four to six years of on-the-job training in operation of medium and heavy construction equipment. Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant. Job Details
